a shameless plug

Many of you know that I work for a company out of Lindon called QuicKutz that specializes in die-cutting tools and accessories for crafters. We've now expanded the company by announcing a new product line and brand, Lifestyle Crafts (or L). Our product development team is brilliant and they've outdone themselves once again.

(no, the L does not stand for Laura)

The first thing this brand is releasing is an at-home letterpress tool. Those of you familiar with letterpress printing will know how "in" it is and that buying anything letterpress like wedding invitations, greeting cards and business cards can be very expensive. Creating your own letterpress projects is almost impossible without making a serious investment for a standard letterpress machine which are extremely pricey and hard to come by. That all changes with this tool.

You can check out the L Blog to learn more about the letterpress and how it works, or lifestylecraft.com to see more projects we made with it. You can also check out this blog by our product development director.

This may all seem like not a big deal unless you're into this kind of thing. If you are, trust me, I've used this tool a lot and I've been absolutely amazed at the quality of the prints. And it's so much more fun to do yourself! We just released it at the summer Craft and Hobby show in Orlando this week and the crafting community is loving it! I've fallen in love with it too and I'm so sad to be leaving this job just as it's being released. At least I've ensured that I will be getting one when they hit stores this fall. Keep an eye out for it!

P.S. I just got back last night from Seattle. Bret started work up there on Monday and I spent a few days checking out neighborhoods and looking for apartments (on the hottest week in Seattle in over a hundred years by the way). I'm back home now to finish up a couple more weeks of work and to pack things up. Bret will come down mid August to help me pack the truck and drive it up, which means I won't see him until then. Boo.

Hey Laura-
That is so awesome about Bret's job! I love love love letterpress and I think this is the coolest tool! Can also make a shameless plug? I'm getting laid off (again!) in August- do you know if Quickcutz is hiring? Or if your job is available? Sorry to be a spaz...I'm just getting desperate and I didn't see anything on their website.

Thanks so much in advance for any info you might have.

Being apart is the worst! I'm so sorry you have to go through that. It does make the heart grow fonder, but when you're newlyweds, your heart can't get much fonder. So it's just sad and hard. But I'm glad Bret has a great job and that things are going well! Miss you!

What?? You're moving away?? That's sad, even though I don't know where you live and never see you here in Utah. Oh well. This tool looks really cool! I love crafty stuff, and I bet you and I would have fun being crafty together if we hung out in real life. That's why it's so sad that you're moving away. Well I hope all goes well for you guys!
