zoo

I feel like if you're a young mom living in Salt Lake City, it's almost a rite of passage to take your children to the Hogle Zoo and then blog about it. Welp, here's mine.

Unfortunately Bret couldn't come, but we had a great time with aunts, uncle (Matt) and some of the cousins.

So the zoo currently has a bunch of robotic dinosaurs scattered around the park that roar, hiss, spit water and terrify children who, understandably, are too young to be able to differentiate that they are not real like all the other moving animals at the zoo.  I may have been a little creeped out by a few of them myself.

Finding out if we weigh as much as a month's worth of elephant poop.

When sitting on a bronze tiger with a mouth full of fishy crackers still doesn't satisfy,  you know it's time to go home.

9 months

Why hello. It's been awhile, hasn't it? I've been slacking a bit lately. For some reason I've lacked the motivation to take pictures (which is rare for me), let alone blog. Perhaps I was burnt out by all the millions of pictures I took the first several months of Ethan's life. I really should post more often though, especially considering that a lot of Ethan's relatives don't live near by and would love to see more photos of him. So I'm gonna try and step it up.

(at the doctor)

Any-who, Ethan turned 9 months last week and on Tuesday we had his check-up so here are his current stats:

Weight: 19.81 lbs
Height: 28.5 inches
Noggin: Huge
Teeth: Nada
Desire to crawl: Minimal at best

Yes, he's a little behind on his ability to move around and I'm trying not to stress out too much about it (it'll be OK right? right? TELL ME IT'LL BE OK!!!!). He is, however, a champ at eating (including feeding himself bottles and finger-foods), sleeping, smiling, bouncing in his jumper and cuddling. Hopefully he'll catch up on the rest soon. In the mean time I'm sort of still enjoying the fact that he'll just sit in one place and play happily...

Ethan takes after his parents in that he enjoys being a comfy-cozy (this is a common term used in our household as both an adjective and a noun). He loves being surrounded by cozy "friends" when he sleeps.
Here's a few shots I took of him today....
We love our comfy- cozy boy.
