Claire, aka the smartest dog in the world, passed away this week (after 17 years!). What a good friend she has been. While in bed last night, I couldn't help but think about the deep connection that humans share with animals, especially dogs. I believe in God and certainly in his creative wisdom, to me this connection obviously serves a purpose. I'm no prophet, but it seems absolutely ludicrous that our natural affinity to animals belongs merely to this life. The bond is so deep rooted I wouldn't be surprised if it carried over into the next life. All dogs go to heaven...lets just hope we're all good enough in this life to co-exist with them there. We'll miss you Claire.

This does include Rosie, right?
Oh what a cute puppy! I'm sorry she had to leave you. I agree whole-heartedly that we will be with them again in Heaven. Heaven has to be a happy place, and how could it be if there were no dogs?
Oh Laura I'm sorry little doggy passed away. I bet she is playing with "Boy" right now.
Thanks Candice! This was actually B's childhood dog, mine died a couple years ago. It's funny that you mentioned her playing with baby boy cause we wondered the same thing! I'm sure they're good buds.
This completely depresses me. I remember Claire... Bret loved that Dog. RIP Claire... it is because of you that I want a dog for my girls.
Amen.
Thank you for your sympathy for our Claire. She was a great dog. The best of the all the dogs we have had. For more on Claire check out the Nana Shanna blog.
